Universal extends hub infrastructure

Universal Logistics Holdings, a full-service provider of customised transport and logistics solutions, has acquired Parsec for USD 193.6 million.
Parsec offers terminal services at over 20 rail yards throughout the USA and Canada, specialising in time-sensitive, container lift on and lift off services. It also provides crane and intermodal equipment repair, drayage, and container and chassis stacking.
In other news, Universal Logistics has opened a new intermodal terminal in Tacoma, WA (USA). The facility includes a secured container yard space for 24/7 service offering a range of drayage services as well as access to all Northwest Seaport Alliance Northwest Seaport Alliance South Harbour terminals and direct links to major highways.
