Terminal upgrade to raise handling capacity

CFL Terminals is upgrading the intermodal terminal Bettembourg-Dudelange in Luxemburg. The European Union is supporting the project with EUR 2.3 million, after Cinea (European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency) and CFL Terminals, in partnership with CFL Multimodal, signed a grant agreement for the investment.
The terminal upgrade consists of five work packages. Their aim is to increase the cranes’ handling capacity on the combined transport platform by over 60%, reduce the CO2 emissions on the rail-motorway platform by around 50% and digitalise and automate the terminal’s operational processes. (ben)
