Temperature-controlled wine from Chile to Japan

Yusen Logistics is launching a less-than-container load (LCL) ocean freight service for wine from Chile to Japan in October.

The cargo will be consolidated in the San Antonio Port warehouse in Chile and shipped in temperature-controlled containers directly to the port of Yokohama.

Upon arrival, the wine is handled in the temperature-controlled CFS at the port of Tokyo to maintain a constant temperature. Direct transport without transhipment at ports on the way prevents quality degradation.

This is the first ocean freight forwarding service for small batches of Chilean wines destined for Japan. Yusen was the only Japanese logistics company to participate in the celebration of 125 years of diplomatic relations between Chile and Japan last November. (mk)
