SGL buys Sand Road Freight

Scan Global Logistics (SGL) continues to expand its global network. The logistics specialist is acquiring Sand Road Freight in Herning (Denmark), a road haulier that operates all over Europe but mainly between Denmark and Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg.
Sand Road Freight handles 35 trucks per day in its services to and from the Benelux countries. With its setup for Benelux traffic enabling customers to save one day of their time for reloading and transport, the haulier will add a new product to SGL's extensive portfolio.
The transaction is expected to close during the summer. SGL has been accelerating its expansion strategy in Europe in recent years and has acquired 33 companies on all continents since 2016. SGL opened its first office in Romania in early April 2023 and is now planning to expand its network in more countries. (ben)
