Paulig has taken a step in its sustainability journey by introducing electric trucks in Belgium, in partnership with logistics provider Eutraco. The international food and beverage company estimates the switch will cut emissions in its value chain by around 100 t of CO₂ per year. In addition, Paulig will move part of its storage to Eutraco’s automated warehouse in Roeselare, located just 6 km from its production site.
"We produce 6 million tortilla wraps and 1 million tortilla chips bags every day, making logistics an important element in reducing emissions," said Kaisa Lipponen, Paulig’s SVP sustainability, HSE & communications. Electric trucks are already in use in Sweden, with full short-distance electrification planned across all Paulig markets added Lipponen. (js)
