Globaltruck in Russia plans to use new cargo vehicles for its express delivery service, which it provides through its subsidiary Cargopipeline. The Russian FTL-trucking company has acquired ten extended semi-trailers from Schmitz Cargobull.
The high-margin service allows the loaded semi-trailer to be in motion up to 20 hours a day and thus speeds up delivery times by 30-40% compared to ordinary FTL transportation. First of all, the vehicles will be used as part of a three-year contract between the group and GTD in Russia.
The extended semi-trailers will enable the carrier to significantly raise freight volumes under the contract, since the vehicles increase loading capacity by an average of eight Euro pallets (+25%).
