Qatar Airways Cargo has partnered with Virgin Australia to add over 180 t of weekly belly capacity across Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, boosting its total cargo capacity to and from Australia to over 400 t per direction. Starting June, Virgin Australia will operate daily Boeing 777 flights to Doha, adding capacity for perishables, pharmaceuticals and other exports.

"This bold move more than doubles capacity on key routes and reinforces our leadership," said Mark Drusch, Chief Officer Cargo at Qatar Airways Cargo. Virgin’s Head of Cargo, Dimitris Politis, highlighted the synergy between Qatar’s global reach and Virgin’s domestic network. With two-way trade exceeding AUD 3.4 billion, the partnership strengthens Australia’s export connectivity to Europe, the Middle East and the Americas. (ah)
