Metrans expands rail network in Eastern Europe

Graphic: Metrans

Metrans is expanding its intermodal activities and introducing a regular train connection between Rijeka (Croatia) and Budapest (Hungary) from 1. June 2023.

The carrier will also launch a rail service linking the hub terminal in Budapest-Csepel with the terminal Indija (Slovenia). The timetable of this new offer will be closely coordinated with the relation between the port of Rijeka and Budapest-Csepel.

Local markets in Serbia will thus be connected to all destinations within the Metrans network. Customers will be able to transport deepsea cargo and intra-European freight from/to Serbia and supply the Serbian market with empty containers from Budapest for further shipments abroad, Metrans said.
