Fully digital is the Korean style

Korean Air Cargo has just started its full-scale digital transition to electronic air waybills to replace paper air cargo transport documents.

The digital transition is intended to streamline the entire process from reservations to delivery, thus improving the quality and accuracy of the data. Simplifying processes, eliminating costs and going paperless will also increase efficiency in the AWB framework and allow the airline to implement its ESG initiatives.

The full transition will first apply to documents for general cargo departing from Korea and bound for North America, Europe, Japan and other select markets.

The airline will mandate e-AWBs for Korea-outbound cargo starting from January 2024, and plans to expand the digital transition for all cargo departing from all global stations in due course. (ah)
