United european car carriers (Uecc) has received certification for cutting 2,379 t of CO₂e in 2024 on Ford of Europe shipments through the use of biofuels. The proof of allocation certificate, issued by verification firm EnviroSense, confirms emissions reductions achieved across UECC’s LNG multi-fuel and biofuel fleet. CEO Glenn Edvardsen said verified documentation allows customers to track their logistics-related emissions for ESG reporting and reduce exposure to 'EU ETS' and 'FuelEU' maritime.

The certified savings reflect Uecc’s strategy of deploying multiple low-carbon solutions and providing cargo owners like Ford with sustainability benefits according to the company. EnviroSense added, the biofuels used comply with the 'EU Renewable energy directive II', which sets sustainability criteria for biofuels. (js)
