ECS Group wins GSSA tender in France and Denmark

ECS Group subsidiaries Globe Air Cargo France and Nordic GSA Denmark have been appointed as GSSA for the Icelandic low-cost airline Play. The partners will develop the airline’s belly cargo business in France, Denmark and other European markets. Play, which launched in 2024, operates a fleet of ten A320neo and A321neo aircraft and now serves 37 destinations across Europe, Africa and North America.
ECS Group’s digital tools and local expertise were key to securing the deal. Initial flows include cargo from Denmark to the Canary Islands, including general cargo, ship spares and perishables. Up to 4.5 t or 10 cbm of cargo can be transported per flight.
Play’s hub at Keflavík offers attractive onward connections to both North America and Southern Europe. ECS plans to build stable cargo revenue streams and raise Play’s visibility among European forwarders. (ah)
