Tata passes on GST cut

Tata Motors has announced that it will pass on the full benefit of India’s recent goods and services tax (GST) reduction on commercial vehicles to its customers from 22 September, when the revised 18% rate takes effect. The company said the move will lower prices for its entire commercial vehicle portfolio, supporting transporters, fleet operators and small businesses. Tata Motors highlighted that reduced purchase costs will help lower total cost of ownership, encouraging fleet modernisation and wider adoption of advanced, cleaner vehicles.
Girish Wagh, executive director at Tata Motors, said the measure supports efforts to revitalise the transport and logistics sector. The company added that by easing operating costs, transporters can improve efficiency and profitability while strengthening India’s supply chain. (js)
