Santiago de Chile: exports hit record in 2022

Air cargo transports from Santiago Airport closed with record levels in 2022. Despite the crisis in the aviation industry caused by the pandemic, the numbers remain at a high level, and it is projected that this will continue.
In 2022, 250,716 t of cargo were transported from Santiago Airport abroad, surpassing the 2021 (242,463) and 2020 (247,267) records. This is the highest figure on record, 122% up from 2010, when exports did not exceed 112,900 t.
The main products exported in 2022 were from the maritime segment, especially salmon, which accounted for 67% of the total. They were followed by vegetables with 18% and seeds with 5%.
111,289 t were imported last year, down 10% from 2021, but with a light uptick of 5% compared to the figures of 2010, when imports approached 106,236 t. (cj)
