Revamping Russia's intermodal terminals

Transcontainer will invest RUB 1.6 million (EUR 17.000) in the modernsation of Russia’s intermodal terminal operations. The largest portion of the funds has been earmarked for the acquisition of two cranes for the new container yard at the Kleshchikha terminal (Novosibirsk), which is currently under construction. The total handling capacity of these cranes is estimated at 82,000 teu per year.
Cranes are scheduled to be replaced in various other terminals. Transcontainer will upgrade the gantry crane at the Pozim terminal (Izhevsk) and the overhead crane at its container repair site in St. Petersburg. It also purchase new reachstackers for its regional container terminals. (ben)
