Order picking in cartons

Sparck technologies has introduced a new feature for its Cvp 'impack' and 'Everest' systems that enables direct order picking into shipping cartons. The feature, called 'pick-to-box', will be showcased at the Logistics Summit in Düsseldorf on 8–9 October. Instead of moving goods to a packaging line, the Cvp first produces an open, right-sized tray, which is automatically transferred to the picking area. Items are placed directly into the open carton, which is then returned for automated sealing and labelling.

According to Sparck technologies this process eliminates the use of separate picking containers and reduces internal transport, cutting logistics effort and material use. The solution is also compatible with shuttle systems, AutoStore and Intellistore, making it suitable for automated warehouses. "With this new feature, we are helping our customers to make their packaging processes even more flexible," said Claus Weigel, international senior sales manager for the DACH region at Sparck technologies.
