At the trailer port in Dresden, Germany, 25,000 trailers with a volume of around 600,000 t of goods are shifted from road to rail every year.

In order to meet the increasing demand for combined transport, a new trailer port has been built on the south side of the Alberthafen Dresden.

Now in service, the extension will have the capacity to tranship 50,000 trailers and containers per year. It includes new loading and unloading zones as well as a parking area for 100 trailers. Up to 20 block trains can now be handled per week, twice as many as before. (ben)
