Metrans: another expansion in Southeast Europe

Photo: HHLA

HHLA’s rail subsidiary Metrans, an intermodal company, has acquired 100% of the Adria Rail Group. It operates in Serbia and Croatia and runs its own rail transport services from the Adriatic to Central and South-Eastern Europe.

Adria Rail covers 70% of container transports between Serbia and Croatia and manages an inland terminal in Indija, Serbia, close to the capital Belgrade. Metrans trains now travel daily between this terminal and the Croatian port of Rijeka. The new location in Indija is also connected to Metrans’ hub terminal in Budapest. (ben)
