Logistics – a gateway to Africa’s youth employment

As half of all new entrants to the global labour market by 2030 will come from Africa, logistics is emerging as one of the continent’s most promising job sectors. From handling and rail operations to data analytics and green mobility, logistics offers both traditional and digital career paths.

AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a leading multimodal transport and logistics operator active in port, rail, and road services across Africa, is helping to drive this transformation. Through partnerships with institutions such as Côte d’Ivoire’s ARSTM and Burkina Faso’s ESMF, AGL trains hundreds of young technicians and engineers each year. The company also invests in innovation via its YIRI Centre in Abidjan, promoting AI and digital skills.

AGL’s HR director Vincent Galindo says: "Africa’s youth need both hands-on and digital expertise. Logistics is the key to their future." (ah)
