Lakeway Link adds "Mistral" for daily sailings

Lakeway Link will expand its Baltic service in November with the addition of "Mistral", a sister ship to "Lakeway Express".
The 153 m ro-ro vessel, chartered from Godby Shipping, offers 1,624 lane metres – about 110 trailers – and will enable daily weekday departures between Södertälje (Sweden) and Gdynia (Poland). The service, tailored for trailers, heavy cargo and project shipments, offers a 22-hour crossing as a reliable alternative to road transport.
CEO Göran Söderdahl said the expansion meets rising demand for higher frequency and supports Lakeway Link’s strategy to promote sustainable short sea shipping by shifting more freight from road to sea, cutting CO₂ emissions and easing highway congestion across Europe.
