Dutch-built river pusher for Paraguay

The Paraguayan shipping firm 'Girona - Rio Sur Transporte y Logistica' has commissioned Dutch shipbuilder Concordia Damen to construct a 'CDS4115' shallow draft 5,400 HP river pusher.

This vessel, measuring 41 x 15.5 m, is designed to operate on the Paraguay and Parana Rivers, even during low draft conditions.

Powered by three Yanmar 6EY22AW engines, it will primarily transport dry bulk cargo along the 2,695 km Paraguay River. After outfitting in the Netherlands, the vessel will undergo sea acceptance trials before delivery. (pb)
