DHL investing in the Middle East
The DHL Group will invest more than EUR 500 million in the Middle East by 2030, focusing on Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The investments span all four DHL divisions and aim to expand infrastructure, fleet and warehousing, whilst boosting service capabilities.
According to DHL Express CEO John Pearson the move aims to support the region’s role as a trade link between Asia, Europe, Africa and the USA, with growing demand in e-commerce a key element. Strategic initiatives also include expanding aviation capacity, acquiring last-mile provider Ajex, and scaling clean logistics solutions in line with DHL’s Strategy 2030. (js)
