DB Schenker has achieved a 99.5% inventory accuracy rate for Siemens in the UK, setting a new benchmark for operational efficiency at Siemens’s Congleton site in Cheshire (England), as the company reports.
The logistics provider has implemented digital tools and automated tracking to optimise inventory management and order processing. This approach prevents excess inventory buildup and aligns stock levels with demand. Orders are now picked and dispatched in half the daily target time, with stock discrepancies resolved within 24 hours.
DB Schenker UK and Ireland CEO Aaron Scott highlighted the company’s focus on cloud computing, warehouse management systems and saas models. Siemens UK’s material services manager Billy Cartwright praised the partnership for its role in improving supply chain efficiency and resilience. (js)
