Circus on rail

The German Circus Roncalli is returning to Vienna by rail for its first performance in the Austrian capitol on 11. September 2024. ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) is currently moving the 2.060 t of circus equipment and the blue-and-white striped Grand Chapiteau from Cologne (Germany) to Vienna.

 

The carrier will ship 30 wooden and colourful circus and fairground wagons - up to 120 years old and fully restored - fences, tarpaulins, small vehicles, 4.5 km of cable, 10,000 LED lamps and 5 km of water hoses to Vienna and back by sustainable rail. The transport requires two trains, up to 564 m long with 22 and 29 wagons. (ben)
