Another mega vessel for MSC

The MSC "Claude Girardet” is on its way. Commissioned by China Ship Leasing and MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, this is the fourth 24,000 teu ultra-large container vessel to be delivered by Hudong-Zhonghua to MSC. It measures 399.99 m in length, 61.5 m in width, and 33.2 m in depth.

With a maximum capacity of 24,346 teu and the ability to load 25 rows of containers, the ship incorporates eco-friendly and energy-efficient technologies, including air lubrication, a bulbous bow, eco main engine, large-diameter propellers, and a scrubber to reduce emissions. MSC's extensive orderbook currently includes over 130 containerships. (pb)
