Lineage Logistics, a specialist in temperature-controlled industrial REIT (real estate investment trusts) and logistics solutions, has renewed its participation in the Smartway transportation partnership of the US environmental protection agency EPA.
The programme provides a framework for assessing the environmental impact and energy efficiency of goods transported along supply chains, so that partner companies can improve their environmental performance.
Lineage is one of approximately 4,000 Smartway partners. These include freight forwarders, logistics companies, trucking, rail, inland waterway, and multimodal transport companies.
To date, Smartway partners have contributed to significant energy savings, including 336 million barrels of oil. (ben)
