Wingd: methanol engines for Cosco

The Swiss company Wingd (Winterthur Gas & Diesel) will supply 16,000 teu vessels currently being built for Cosco Shipping Lines in Yangzhou (China) with 10X92DF-M methanol fuel.
It is one of the first methanol-fuelled container vessels to be built in China: for Dominik Schneiter, VP R&D, Wingd, "the Cosco order is an ideal move."
Wingd uses the most advanced technologies in emissions reduction to create sustainable energy systems, which will help China’s green transformation strategy. The company wants to support shipowners in their transition to eco-friendly transport. (lh)
