In Germany, Truck ReClaim, a BGL partner, has filed a collective lawsuit against a truck cartel. Claims have been submitted on behalf of around 1,000 companies in nearly 15,000 vehicle-procurement cases.

The Bundesverband Güterkraftverkehr, Logistik und Entsorgung (BGL, Germany's national association for road freight transportation, logistics and waste management) is supported by partner associations AMÖ, BWVL and DSLV. The manufacturers Man, Daimler, Volvo/Renault, Iveco and Daf previously admitted cartel involvement in a settlement with the EU Commission.

Scania contested the decision, but was ultimately found guilty by the European Court of Justice in February 2024. As Scania is jointly liable, claims may also include trucks from other brands. The ruling suspends limitation periods, allowing claims to proceed. BGL now supports three class-action lawsuits against the truck cartel. (js)
