Rhenus Cuxport, a port terminal operator, is extending its presence in the automotive logistics market by expanding into a 110, 000 sqm area in the hinterland of the Cuxhaven deep-sea port.

The move anticipates Germany's shift from car exports to imports due to Asia's burgeoning manufacturing market. The newly developed terminal on the North Sea coast is set to accommodate 4,500 vehicles for storage and handling.

Completion is expected for September 2023. This expansion aligns with Rhenus Cuxport's strategy to serve the increasing demand for auto handling, primarily from Asia. (pb)
