International Container Terminal Services Inc's operation at the port of Manzanillo Contecon has expanded its global network with the arrival of Wan Hai Lines’ Asia–South America West Coast 2 (WSA2) service. The service, also called Asia-South America (Asa), made its maiden call on 11 August with the vessel Wan Hai A16. Operated jointly with Pacific International Lines, Evergreen Marine and Cosco Shipping, it deploys eleven vessels on a rotation covering Kaohsiung, Shekou, Hong Kong, Ningbo, Shanghai, Manzanillo, Lázaro Cárdenas, Puerto Quetzal, Buenaventura, Callao and Guayaquil.

CEO José Antonio Contreras said the addition supports Contecon’s expansion strategy through to 2026. It aims to enhance trade connectivity between Asia and Latin America while strengthening Manzanillo’s position as a logistics hub. (js)
