Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has secured a deal with CMA Terminals, a subsidiary of CMA CGM, to supply three Kalmar hybrid straddle carriers for SAMR, CMA CGM Group's Indian Ocean hub on Réunion Island.

Scheduled for delivery in Q4/2024, these machines will increase eco-efficiency in cargo handling, cutting fuel consumption by up to 40%. Port Réunion, where CMA Terminal operates, has evolved into France's 4th largest container port.

Karri Keskinen, Kalmar's head of global sales, horizontal transportation, said she was proud of her company’s collaboration with CMA Terminals and highlighted the partners' shared commitment to sustainable operations. (pb)
