Geneva airport already looking for new CEO
The board of directors of Genève aéroport has revealed that CEO Gilles Rufenacht will step down on 31 October 2025.
Rufenacht, who took over from André Schneider in October 2024, led the airport’s executive reorganisation and initiated key reforms, in line with its 2030 strategy. Chairman Christian Lüscher thanked him for his dedication and stated the leadership transition would be smooth.
A search for his successor is underway and expected to conclude by late summer. The airport’s long-term goals - passenger service improvements, environmental transition and regional integration - remain unchanged.
2024 saw a strong recovery in airfreight. Despite an economic climate impacted by geopolitical tensions in several parts of the world, the annual tonnage of freight handled at Geneva came to 92,615 t (+39%). This freight volume is the second-highest result in the airport's history. (ah)
