G&W to further enhance its fleet

The USA-based transport company Genesee & Wyoming (G&W) has ordered 69 certified pre-owned locomotives from Wabtec for six of its short lines. The purchase consists of 35 Dash 9 and 34 Dash 8 locomotives.
Wabtec will start to despatch these locomotives immediately and complete delivery by December this year. These additional engines will increase G&W’s fleet of Wabtec locomotives to more than 100. Wabtec’s certified pre-owned programme provides a range of high-performance locomotives that are equipped with original design specifications, maintenance records and operational histories.
To date, Wabtec has sold over 210 locomotives to eight different customers through its certified pre-owned programme. (ben)
