The ports of Rotterdam and Duisburg have signed a new letter of intent to strengthen their cooperation on sustainable transport corridors. The agreement, endorsed in the presence of North Rhine-Westphalia’s Minister President Hendrik Wüst, aims to accelerate decarbonisation in industry and strengthen the Rhine corridor.
Wüst said the ports, as Europe’s largest seaport and the world’s largest inland port, play a vital role in developing hydrogen and CO₂ hubs for climate-neutral industry. "Their cooperation signals confidence," Wüst said, underlining that closer ties between Rotterdam and Duisburg will strengthen Europe’s industrial and environmental future "as well as security policy."
