Turkish Cargo boosts Maastricht
Maastricht Aachen airport (MST) has added three weekly freighter flights, reflecting strong cargo growth of 15% year-on-year up to July 2025.
Turkish Cargo is boosting its presence with an extra Boeing 777 rotation linking Quito, Bogota, Miami, Istanbul and the Netherlands, mainly carrying perishables. Uzbek carrier My Freighter is launching a twice-weekly Boeing 767-300F service from Shanghai via Tashkent and Almaty, transporting e-commerce, automotive products, flowers and general cargo.
"With the addition of My Freighter and the expansion of Turkish Cargo services, we expect this upward trend to continue for the rest of the year," said Dean Boljuncic, head of commercial development. Earlier this summer, Ethiopian Airlines also began a twice-weekly 777 service, connecting Hong Kong and Addis Ababa with Maastricht. (ah)
