Shark relocation faces setbacks
After its first voyage to Morocco, a mobile station truck by Flying Sharks completed an 8,000 km European journey transporting marine life. Four sandbar sharks were loaded in València and transported to HagaOcean in Stockholm. The route included rest stops in Montpellier, Oberhausen and Copenhagen, where power connections maintained life support systems and cooling.
Although arrival conditions were "absolutely perfect", as described by Flying Sharks, not all sharks survived post-introduction. An ocean sunfish, loaded earlier in Peniche, was delivered to Nordsoen Aquarium in Denmark after 140 hours in transit. The journey also included a group of fish delivered to Copenhagen. "We’d love to say that all animals survived but a perfect result wasn't on the cards this time", stated the company. (js)
