New CEOs for SmartSea and Noatum-CSM

SmartSea, a maritime technology firm backed by the air transport IT specialist Sita, has named Kris Vedat as its new CEO, succeeding Julian Panter. Panter will now lead Noatum-CSM, a joint venture between the AD Ports Group and the Columbia Group.
Vedat’s aims are to accelerate SmartSea’s growth and roll out its ‘SmartSea Vision’, a digital marketplace for maritime services.
Panter, who played a key role in launching SmartSea, will now focus on scaling Noatum-CSM’s operations. He described the new role as an opportunity to help shape benchmarks in ship management.
Vedat emphasised his intention to enhance customer relationships and apply aviation-grade technologies to streamline maritime operations.
SmartSea has already begun integrating its solutions into the UAE’s logistics systems, particularly in Abu Dhabi, where multimodal digital connectivity is expanding.
