Garbe Industrial has celebrated the topping-out of a new logistics property in Salzgitter.

The 51,000 m² brownfield site, formerly owned by rail manufacturer Alstom, has been fully cleared and remediated. The new building, set for completion by Q4/2025, will offer around 31,000 m² of space in three units, including 27,700 m² of hall space, 2,000 m² mezzanine, and 1,400 m² offices. It will feature 29 dock levellers, 12 sectional doors, and nine covered side-loading points, making it attractive for the automotive sector.

Garbe, an industrial real estate enterprise, is investing around EUR 40 million in the project and expects leasing to begin during construction. The property is located near the A39 motorway, offering good access to the Hannover/Wolfsburg/Braunschweig triangle.

The facility will be heated with district energy and aims for DGNB ‘gold’ certification. ESG-compliant features include e-charging infrastructure and sealed flooring for water-hazardous materials. (gy)
