Americold has appointed Robert S. Chambers as its new CEO and member of the board of directors, effective today, 1 September. He succeeds George Chappelle, who is retiring after a four-decade career in the logistics industry.

Chambers has been with Americold for twelve years, most recently as president with responsibility for global operations, sales, engineering and supply chain innovation. He previously held roles as president Americas and chief commercial officer, and earlier in his career worked for Saia, Ceva Logistics and KPMG.

Americold, listed on the NYSE, is a global leader in temperature-controlled logistics and real estate, operating more than 230 facilities across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and South America with about 42.5 million cbm of refrigerated capacity. Its network connects food producers, distributors and retailers with value-added services and is considered a vital link in the global cold chain. (ah)
