Expanded ground handling and cargo partnership at BUD
Menzies Aviation has finalised its strategic partnership with Airport Service Budapest, expanding its presence at Budapest airport (BUD).
Following regulatory approval, Airport Service Budapest’s operations, including ground handling and cargo services, have merged into Menzies Aviation Hungary and Menzies Aviation Cargo Hungary. All employees have been integrated, and the SkyCourt Lounge is now part of Menzies’ premium service offering. Together, they’ll handle over 2,500 flights and 12,000 t of cargo monthly at BUD.
"This partnership positions us to meet rising demand and deliver first-class services to our partners at Budapest airport," said Miguel Gomez Sjunnesson, EVP Europe. The move follows Menzies’ investment in a new BUD cargo facility in 2024 and supports the airport’s ambition to reach 20 million passengers by 2030. (ah)
