Elcome secures fleet retrofit

Elcome international has finalised a retrofit agreement with a Middle East-based shipowner covering ten crude and product tankers as ther company reported. The project replaces 'Alfa laval mission/Alts' boiler control systems, originally fitted with 'Unisab II' controllers, with new PLC-based Elsys systems, upgraded human-machine interfaces, Scada integration and burner management upgrades.
Each retrofit also includes connectivity, enabling real-time diagnostics, software updates and support from Elcome’s service team. Two vessels have already been upgraded, one at Jebel Ali and another while in operation, with each installation completed within five to seven days. The remaining eight retrofits are scheduled for completion this year. (js)
