DHL global forwarding and Henkel have expanded their sustainability partnership with a new agreement to use sustainable marine fuel (SMF) for the majority of Henkel’s seafreight in 2025. Covering around 9,000 teu, the deal is expected to cut transport-related emissions by 4,700 t CO₂e on a well-to-wake basis, equivalent to an 85% reduction on the main leg compared with conventional fuels as DHL reported. DHL will allocate the reductions to Henkel through its 'book & claim' system.

"By combining Henkel’s ambitions with our sustainable logistics solutions, we demonstrate that progress in decarbonising supply chains is possible today," said Amanda Rasmussen, CCO of DHL global forwarding. The reductions will be verified by SGS, providing independent assurance. (js)
